Sensei (Sempai - Most Senior Student) Steve D'Antonio - Yondan (4th Dan)
Okinawan Kobayashi Shorin-Ryu Karate-Do

Sensei D’Antonio began his Karate journey in 1988 at the age of 6.  Sensei D’Antonio became the original pupil of Sensei Roberts when he took over Willis’ south end dojo in 1989.

By the year 1995, Sempai D’Antonio received his Shodan (1st Dan) from Rodney Willis and Sensei Roberts.  A year later, he tested for his Nidan (2nd Dan) in the same examination as his Kohai (Junior) Sensei Ferraro, tested for his Shodan under the same men and grading board.  Sempai D’Antonio was promoted to Sandan (3rd Dan) by a grading panel of senior dans headed by Kyoshi Frank Hargrove in February of 2000 along with Sensei Ferraro in Virginia Beach, U.S.A.

In 2007, Sempai tested for his Yondan alongside Sensei Ferraro in Indianapolis, Indiana for the Hanshi’s from Okinawa: Giyu Gibo and Eiyu Yonaguni, as well as Hanshi Doug Perry and Kyoshi Eddie Bethea.

Not only is Sempai D’Antonio Sensei Roberts’ first student, but he is also his first Yudansha (Black Belt), and a very knowledgeable teacher and Karate-ka with a keen eye for detail.

Sempai lives and works in Guelph, Ontario and owns a very successful I.T. consulting business.
